About the Instructor:
Hayes Greenfield
Musician, composer, sound artist, educator, and founder of Creative Sound Play (CSP), Hayes Greenfield has been working with young people for over 30 years.
From 2009-2012 Hayes created and successfully implemented a Pre-K pilot program for several Detroit Public Schools as part of the PNC Bank “Grow Up Great Initiative.” Beginning in 2012, Hayes devoted five years to codifying CSP at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House’s Early Childhood Center, and from 2015 to 2017 consulted at Bank Street Head Start.
In 2021 he created “Effective Transitions for Classrooms,” a course offered on the National Head Start Association’s professional development online teaching portal, The Academy. Hayes presented CSP at the National Head Start Association’s conferences in 2018, 2019, 2022 and at the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s 2022 conference. Hayes has taught Applied Saxophone at Teachers College, taught jazz improvisation at Improv Camp at Lehman College, has recorded several critically acclaimed CDs, and received awards in all of his endeavors.
