A.I. and Early Childhood Education

What will education look like in the next 50 years? Why are we talking about early childhood education in the age of artificial intelligence? 

Before covid, we would often think of ourselves separate from artificial intelligence, and the term AI might have even been considered scary to some. 

But turbulent times have catapulted us to the future, it seems, and here we are coining the terms AI with early childhood education; this day is here.

But what I believe is that it’s not about teaching young children about what computers are or what they can do. It’s about teaching them what it can’t— having a human heart, ethics, social, emotional intelligence, and the appropriate child tech tools. And working in partnership with all stakeholders as one united team, be it parents, teachers, policymakers alike.

Dr. Samia Kazi

She is the co-founder of Global Childhood Academy (GCA). Dr. Kazi’s educational background is balanced between education and technology. She started her career as a computer programmer, and obtained a masters and doctorate in early childhood education leadership and education policy.  The Huffington Post named Dr. Kazi one of the top women who are reshaping early childhood education in the Middle East. She is also the co-founder and VP of Arabian Child Corporation, a leading training, research and advocacy institute for education in the Middle East. Samia has published 14 research papers and written 2 E-books. A proud mother of 4 children.
