This course provides a quick introduction for teachers about artificial intelligence. If you like this course, and want to learn more about AI in education, we suggest you also take this course.

Why is it important for early childhood teachers to learn more about AI?

AI is not just a robotics class that primary or secondary class children attend. Scientists are developing applications that bring AI to the hands of very young children. And waiting until a child is in school for us to prepare them to deal with AI might be too late. When early childhood teachers are armed with the knowledge and skills, they are better prepared. And who better to understand developmentally appropriate practice than early childhood educators? At what age are children bound to get personalized attention and tailor-made experiences to their abilities. Before they get assigned a desk in a classroom, they need to become critical thinkers and start creating an area in their brains to welcome more advanced learning later.

Do you think that preschoolers should learn about AI?

Not necessarily. I think that early childhood teachers should be aware of AI applications in education. I am not suggesting that we bring robots into preschool.
